This policy explains what personal data we collect through czech.support, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

Our contact forms ask for your name, email address, and your message. We use these only to reply to you and to continue the conversation if it goes somewhere.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries.

Form submissions are sent straight to our email. They are not stored in the website database.

We keep inquiries that don’t lead to work for 12 months, then delete them. If we start working together, your details become part of our client records and we keep them for as long as the relationship lasts plus the periods Czech law requires for accounting and tax records.

Our forms use a hidden field to catch automated spam submissions. It collects nothing about you and is invisible if you’re a real person.

When you visit the site

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. These are deleted after 6 months.

We use two analytics tools.

Matomo gives us basic visitor statistics: how many people read a page, which pages they read. We run it on our own server, so the data stays with us. It isn’t shared with any analytics company and isn’t used to track you across other websites.

Matomo runs without cookies and shortens your IP address before storing it, so it can’t identify you and doesn’t follow you between visits. Because of that it doesn’t require consent, and it runs whether or not you accept cookies. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in knowing which of our guides are useful.

Google Analytics tells us how the site is used: which pages people read, where they arrive from, what they do next. It sets cookies and processes data including your IP address. This only happens if you accept analytics cookies in our banner. If you decline, Google receives no cookies and no identifiers from your visit.

Advertising

We advertise our services through Google Ads, and use Google Ads cookies to measure whether those ads lead to inquiries. These are only set if you accept advertising cookies in our banner. If you decline, you may still see our ads, but they won’t be personalized and we won’t be able to connect them to your visit.

Provider for Google Analytics and Google Ads: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis for analytics and advertising cookies is your consent, under Article 6(1)(a). You can withdraw it at any time. See the cookies section below.

Cookies

We use two kinds of cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies make the site work: remembering your cookie choice, keeping forms functional. These don’t require consent and aren’t used to track you.

Optional cookies are for Google Analytics and Google Ads. We only set them if you accept them in the banner. Declining costs you nothing, the site works exactly the same either way. Our own Matomo statistics don’t use cookies at all, so they aren’t affected by your choice.

You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in our website footer.

Who else sees your data

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf. They may only use it to provide their service to us.

  • Hostinger. Hosts the site. Servers in Frankfurt, Germany. Backups are stored in France. Both within the EU.
  • Seznam.cz. Delivers and stores our email, including your message to us. Servers in the Czech Republic.
  • Google Ireland Limited. Google Analytics and Google Ads, as described above.

Matomo runs on our own server and isn’t a third party.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone for marketing.

If a project needs a specialist, such as a lawyer, an accountant, or a developer, we’ll tell you before we share anything about you with them.

Transfers outside the EU

Your data is hosted and backed up within the European Union. The one exception is Google: where Google processes data in the United States, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or by Standard Contractual Clauses where the Framework doesn’t apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted
  • Ask us to restrict how we use it
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent

Email info@czech.support and we’ll handle it. We’ll respond within one month, as the GDPR requires.

If you think we’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to the Czech data protection authority:

Children

This site is aimed at businesses. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged clearly rather than slipped in quietly.
